The exhibition ‘Mythic Miniatures‘ by Mahaveer Swami is at the Inherited Art Forum at Lado Sarai from 24th January 2024 to 26th February 2024.
Mahaveer Swami, born in 1959 in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India, is a highly skilled artist specializing in the revival of the Bikaner School of Painting. He received initial training at home and later obtained a Diploma in Painting & Sculpture from the Rajasthan School of Art in Jaipur. Under the guidance of his mentor, Shri Vedpal Sharma “Bannu,” he mastered the Traditional Style of Paintings. Swami distinguishes himself among traditional painters with his exceptional drawing and painting skills, coupled with an ability to discern between fine and mundane art. While capable of replicating other masters’ works perfectly, he prefers exploring new subjects and expressions. His artistic style is strongly influenced by Mughal and Rajasthani Miniatures, with themes often drawn from Indian Mythology, the lives of holy individuals, and the daily life of Indian women.
