Shruti Gupta Kasana presents a solo show “Sampurn Vrindavan” to showcase the life of Krishna by creating three distinct themes within one show: Krishna in Dwarka, his childhood in Vrindavan, and his love and compassion towards cows on December 07, 2024 at Open Palm Court, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The artist’s collection will delve into the mythology surrounding India’s underwater city, Dwarka. According to Hindu mythology, the ancient city was established by Krishna after he vanquished his uncle Kansa. The magnificent city was cursed to sink beneath the waves after Krishna departed to the spiritual realm. By exploring the themes of Anterdweep; the Cowherd, Bovine Love, Passion; and Sampurn Vrindavan, the exhibition will be a breath-taking spectacle for the viewers.
To enhance the show’s intrigue, she is also designing statement knitwear pieces, where she incorporates knitting, hand embroidery, applique patchwork, and Bengali Kantha techniques, that not only serve as artistic expressions but also serve as wearable garments, blending functionality with art seamlessly.
