Sanctum: Gujral Opens at Bikaner House as a Permanent Space Dedicated to the Legacy of Satish Gujral

Art lovers in Delhi can now experience the enduring legacy of one of India’s most celebrated modern artists through Sanctum: Gujral, a permanent and evolving cultural chamber at Arzaani Atelier Privé, Bikaner House. Conceived by Raseel Gujral Ansal and presented by RGAL | Raseel Gujral Art Legacy, the space offers a more intimate way of engaging with art, encouraging visitors to spend time reflecting on each work rather than simply viewing it.

Unlike conventional exhibitions, Sanctum has been envisioned as a living cultural space where the display evolves over time. The presentation brings together a curated selection of original artworks, sculptures, drawings, and museum-quality limited-edition prints, all connected to the artistic language and creative vision of Satish Gujral.

The inaugural presentation features works from Gujral’s celebrated Liberty Series, which explores themes of freedom, identity, resilience, and the human spirit. Through layered compositions, textured surfaces, and expressive figurative forms, the series examines liberty not merely as a political ideal but as a deeply personal and emotional pursuit.

Alongside the original works, the space introduces carefully produced artist folios and limited editions, allowing collectors and admirers to engage with Gujral’s artistic legacy while preserving the rarity of his original creations. As an ongoing initiative, Sanctum aims to preserve, reinterpret, and extend Satish Gujral’s artistic contribution through thoughtfully curated rotating displays.
