Shots in the Dark – An Art Exhibition by Chandra Bhattacharjee
Art Alive Gallery presents Shots in the Dark, a solo exhibition by Chandra Bhattacharjee, bringing a powerful new body of work to Shridharani Art Gallery in New Delhi.
The exhibition features monumental charcoal drawings inspired by people who often remain unnoticed in everyday urban life. Street dwellers, workers, and familiar neighbourhood faces emerge in Bhattacharjee’s larger-than-life works, encouraging viewers to pause and look more closely at the people who quietly shape the rhythm of our cities.
Alongside the charcoal works, the exhibition presents delicate watercolours of ordinary everyday objects. Together, these works explore ideas of visibility, memory, dignity, and our tendency to overlook people and things that are constantly around us.
Presented as Art Alive Gallery marks its 25th anniversary, Shots in the Dark reflects Chandra Bhattacharjee’s continuing interest in the familiar and the unseen. Following its presentation at Shridharani Art Gallery, the exhibition will continue at Art Alive Gallery in August.
