Summer Theatre Festival Organized by the National School of Drama, in Delhi and Ladakh
- NSD’s ‘Summer Theatre Festival’ will be held in Delhi and Ladakh.
- The ‘Summer Theatre Festival’ organized by NSD will feature 37 performances of 9 plays.
National School of Drama, an autonomous institution of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, which is a renowned institution for theater not only in the country but also on the world stage, is organizing its ‘Summer Theatre Festival’ this year in Delhi and Ladakh. This is the first time that NSD is organizing this important festival in Ladakh. It starts in Delhi from May 23. A total of 32 performances of 9 plays will be held in Delhi and 5 performances in Ladakh from June 26 to 30.
Plays to be staged in the ‘Summer Theatre Festival’ by the National School of Drama:
- The festival will begin with the much-talked-about play ‘Taj Mahal Ka Tender’ on May 23. This play by NSD has completed 25 years. It has been directed by Shri Chitranjan Tripathi.
- The play ‘Andhayug’ directed by the living legend of Indian theater, Padma Shri Ramgopal Bajaj will also be staged.
- The festival will also feature the plays ‘Khoob Ladi Mardani’ directed by Bharati Sharma, ‘Abhijñānaśākuntalam’ directed by Prof. Vidushi Rita Ganguly, ‘Band Gali Ka Akhri Makan’ directed by Prof. Devendra Raj Ankura, ‘Mai Ri Main Ka Se Kahun’ directed by Shri Ajay Kumar, ‘Laila Majnu’ directed by Prof. Ramgopal Bajaj, ‘Bayen’ directed by the late Usha Ganguly and the much-appreciated musical play ‘Babuji’ directed by Shri Rajesh Singh.
