The Evolution of the Soothsayer: Art Exhibition
Celebrating 30 years of Nature Morte, the gallery opens its new permanent space in Gulmohar Park with The Evolution of the Soothsayer, a two-part exhibition curated by Peter Nagy.
Bringing together 35 artists from the gallery’s roster, the exhibition looks at how contemporary artistic practice has evolved amid major shifts in the art world – from globalisation and identity politics to digital technologies and new ways of making and sharing images.
Across painting, sculpture, photography, installation and new media, the exhibition brings together artists with distinct visual languages and long-running explorations of material, form and ideas. It also looks back at practices that have shaped Nature Morte’s three-decade journey while opening up conversations about where contemporary art might go next.
The new gallery itself occupies an entire building, with two exhibition floors and a rooftop terrace, offering a larger setting for exhibitions, collaborations and public programmes.
