Solo Exhibition at Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi
Vadehra Art Gallery is honored to present The Last Decade, a solo exhibition of works by renowned Indian modernist K.G. Subramanyan. Curated by art historian Professor R. Siva Kumar, this exhibition commemorates the centenary of Subramanyan’s birth and celebrates his profound influence on Indian art. The Last Decade features artworks from the final ten years of Subramanyan’s seven-decade-long career, providing a glimpse into the enduring creative spirit of one of India’s most distinguished post-Independence artists.
K.G. Subramanyan’s work is characterized by its exploration of India’s sociopolitical narratives, traditional art forms, and mythological themes. His multifaceted practice—spanning painting, sculpture, murals, poetry, and academic writing—redefined the Indian art landscape. His contributions, as an artist and art theorist, have been instrumental in shaping modern Indian artistic discourse.
