The Sacred Wild – Solo Art Exhibition

The Sacred Wild is a solo art exhibition by renowned visual artist Aparna Banerjee, presenting a powerful exploration of the feminine as both form and force. Through a series of acrylics and watercolours, Aparna brings together themes of memory, mythology, architecture, and nature to create a striking visual narrative.

In The Sacred Wild, Aparna Banerjee draws inspiration from her travels across the Silk Route and Southern India. Her canvases reflect landscapes, myths, and encounters with women whose strength and resilience deeply influenced her. Central to this exhibition are recurring motifs such as the deer, lotus, pomegranate, sacred pillars, and the mythical Ganda Berundah, symbolizing both conflict and harmony.

Her art transforms temple gates, frescoes, and carved stone into spaces alive with sacred flowers, wild blossoms, birds, and animals. The peahen, a recurring symbol in her work, represents strength with grace and beauty with dignity—an enduring metaphor for womanhood.

About Artist

Aparna Banerjee is a self-taught artist of international acclaim. Growing up in a Bengali family that nurtured artistic expression, she embraced art from an early age. Over the years, she has showcased her works in more than 74 national and international exhibitions, representing India at prestigious platforms, including:
