Whispered Continuum by Smriti Dixit – Solo Exhibition
Art Alive Gallery, New Delhi presents Whispered Continuum, a powerful solo exhibition by acclaimed contemporary artist Smriti Dixit, opening with a preview on 28 November 2025. On view till 5 January 2026, the show marks Dixit’s much-anticipated return to Delhi after nearly two decades.
In Whispered Continuum, Dixit draws from the natural landscapes and coastal vegetation around her home in suburban Mumbai. Creepers, palms, and shifting waters become metaphors for resilience, transition, and the quiet, cyclical rhythms of nature. Through sculptural installations created with coiled, woven, and stitched fabric—often combined with found materials—she captures the interplay between growth, decay, renewal, and memory.
Working with a predominantly monochromatic palette enriched by vivid reds, Dixit continues her exploration of textile as a living, breathing medium. Evolving since 1995, her practice is both meditative and transformative, revealing the deep emotional continuum that connects material, process, and personal experience.
Whispered Continuum reaffirms her pioneering position in contemporary textile-based art and invites viewers to reflect on the intimate relationships between nature, time, and the human condition.
