Aashmeen Munjaal’s Star Hair and Makeup Academy recently organised a grand convocation and makeover championship at Qla, The Kila. A host of celebrities were roped in to encourage the fresh talents and to judge the contest. We attended the evening of glamour and razzmatazz at this beautiful location in Mehrauli.

The students who just passed out of the academy were beaming with happiness in their graduation caps and coats.

A long list of celebrities raised the glamour quotient of the evening even further. Entrepreneur and socialite Ramola Bachchan, Artist Anjanna Kuthiala, Fashion designer Preeti Ghai, Designers Bharat and Reshma along with many others attended the event.

This was followed by a fashion show, where the hair and make up of models were done by the students of Aashmeen Munjaal’s Star Academy. The fashion show was divided in two segments – Bridal and Fantasy. The models were also new talent trying to make a mark in the industry. This was much in sync with the freshness and raw talent of the academy students and it was heartening to witness this beautiful show of collective effort.

Film actors Jimmy Shergill and Bruna Abdullah were the star attractions. They attended the event with their team from the upcoming Bollywood film “Yea toh too much ho gaya”.  The whole team was in Delhi for their film promotion. Shergill, along with congratulating the students spoke about his Hindi comedy film.

The celebrity judges announced the winners from both categories and the winners were given certificate, trophy and cash prizes.

The evening concluded with high tea at the beautiful terrace of Qla, The Kila. The fair was vegetarian and alcohol free. The view from the terrace was stunning; especially Qutub Minar at the backdrop attracted everybody’s attention.

This grand convocation, fashion show, film promotion, celebrities and high tea all wrapped in one evening was quite a glamorous event that is going to linger in our memory for a long time.

What a beautiful shot of Qutub! In this concrete jungle, it is still so regal.
