Food is the new porn. Everybody’s hooked on to it. Be it the new glamorous standalone food channels or the food Instagrammers who are known to have a reach of thousands and millions, food is in the limelight. There is no denying that food is one of the basic needs, but in cities like Delhi – Gurgaon, food is where the moolah is – food is where the glamour lies. No celebration is complete without eating out or ordering in. Areas like Connaught Place in Delhi or Sector 29 in Gurgaon witness a new restaurant or delivery kitchen every week and food enthusiasts flock to taste, click and cover these places.
To cater to this expanding need of the foodies and food industry, Ocean Media Private Limited has launched their new monthly magazine called FnB Buzz. This magazine is dedicated to food and beverages across the world. We were invited and we attended the launch party at Hyatt Regency Gurgaon. Famous chefs to food bloggers to social media influencers, the whole gamut of food industry experts were in attendance.
We met celebrity MasterChef Pankaj Bhadouria and exchanged notes with celebrity Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi and MasterChef Shipra Khanna. Along with them, the magazine’s design, technical and research teams were also present.
The launch of FnB Buzz magazine saw stage performances by dancers from various Indian states. Interestingly along with the performance on the stage, food from the respective states was being served to the guests. We enjoyed our Dhokla with Garba, Fried fish with Bengali dance, and Chicken tikka with Bhangra.
Incidentally, the event also celebrated the relaunch of Hyatt’s Indian cuisine restaurant “Lavana” that specialises in Awadh cuisine. We enjoyed some finger-licking food curated by Chef Jayanandan Bhaskar, first runner-up of Masterchef India Season 1, as part of the dinner.
Magazine launch – entertainment – dinner – it was a sure shot recipe for a perfect evening and we wish to thank the organisers for inviting us to this event. We were gifted with the inaugural issue of FnB Buzz magazine and were quite excited that now we can read food as well! The first issue of the FnB magazine carries various interesting articles about food and beverage from celebrated authors. It is an enjoyable read and we wish the magazine our very best.
