Gurgaon’s (or have they named it Gurugram officially already) cosmopolitan and “small family with both partners working” culture has resulted in a rise of food delivery services in this suburb. Not just traditional lunch or dinner, Gurgaon has so many entrepreneurs delivering state specific cuisines, health food, ready to cook kits and what not.
Foodport is also trying to make a mark in Gurgaon’s home/office food delivery services. Their food is available on order as well as on subscription. We recently tried some of their stuff and liked what they delivered.
First impression: We liked the fact that they delivered by the promised time and secondly by the nice looking packaging. All the stuff was neatly packed in microwaveable boxes and the portion size looked reasonable too.
From what we tried we will give a thumbs-up to veg sliders, rice salad and the dessert. The sliders were tiny vegetarian burgers – oily but delicious. The Spanish rice salad was full of olives, raisins and veggies. Served with a vinegar based sweet and tangy dressing, this looked absolutely mouth watering.Vinegar was a little too sweet for us but otherwise we liked this a lot. The veggies served on the side were a combination of green beans and some Chinese carrots, tossed in some light oil and seasoned with onion seeds. We liked it a lot. Garlic breads that looked like a small roll were delicious as well.
The BBQ chicken sandwich was alright but there was scope for improvement. The filling was just too greasy for us. We didn’t like the Chicken Scallopini with spaghetti much. While the chicken was nicely cooked, the spaghetti was terribly spicy. Somehow spaghetti is not a dish where one would expect a lot of chilli, but this was mouth burning hot.
The walnut brownie dipped in chocolate sauce was sinful and delicious. It helped to subdue the chillis from spaghetti.
We liked most of their stuff but wish they reduce the amount of oil and chillis to make their stuff consumable on daily basis.
Beautiful article. Worth reading and nice information shared.
