Restaurants have started expanding into new zones. They are segueing into work spaces as well as venues for events. Greenr is one such concept that’s a restaurant –cum- wifi –cum benches, chairs, a comfy couch and a screen. The décor is soothing and the place has a lot of natural light.

Greenr has given an uncommon twist to food. They serve vegetarian and vegan food of the California variety. The interesting menu lists quite a few items that contain faux meat. They have used a variety of elements like jackfruit, kasava and black eyed peas to create these meat substitutes.

What we tried at Greenr

For entrée we had baked sweet potato fingers with coffee. This simple yet tasty dish set the bar for the evening. The main course was earth bowl pot that comprised brown rice, vegetarian sausages topped with orange sauce and pine nuts. It was tasty yet easy on the system and we don’t have words to describe how much we liked it. This was a meal on its own. We also had a vegetarian meatball pizza – an oxymoron on the table – since it was all vegetarian. This was a thin crust pizza with a wheat base and was one of the better pizzas we had recently.

One for the sweet tooth

Desserts were mango gelato and chocolate ganache with more coffee. The gelato tasted of fresh mango puree and the ganache was smooth as silk and had a crispy garnish. It had a pleasant aroma of butter and chocolate. In combination with coffee, this was heaven.

Not just food

They also have a counter where they sell organic/vegan products.

The cafe is on first floor and they have a designer fashion store on the ground floor. If you are one for food of the milder variety you would not mind a little hunting in Shahpur Jat for the rather unique vegetarian-vegan Greenr cafe.
