As my friend and co-blogger for delhi-fun-dos.com keeps saying “Man at his best is god”. This is probably what this film is trying to say. It’s a beautiful small budget film with a message. A film where the protagonist fights against superstitions and dogmas in a special way… By dragging God to court. Yes a single man against God and godmen in the court of law.
Apart from an unusual script, the film boasts of some sterling performances by veterans like Paresh Rawal, Om Puri and Akshay Kumar. But what stole the show was the “Pansy Baba” act of Mithun Chakravarty. His expressions, hand gestures, the super cute dance was so good, it made our evening. 😆
Clearly the script writer and director believes that there is god and they want us to believe that too. No problems there. What bugs us a bit, is the fact that they had to use the so called “Chamatkars (Miracles)” to make us believe in the presence of god. Here the film falters big time and reduce to becoming just a good entertaining film rather than an extraordinary one.
But as long as one keeps smiling throughout the film, takes a good message home, who’s complaining. We missed the movie when it was released on big screens. Thanks to IHC’s film festival we got to see this one in an auditorium.
Apart from a lot of good things the film has to offer, its a must watch just for Mithun Chakravarty.
Fantastic Mithun Da.
