Om Sweets – Convenient and Pocket Friendly

Sep 16, 2016 | Food

Om Sweets has long been a favorite in Delhi and Gurgaon, best known for their signature Dhoda Barfi. This sweet is so popular that many pack it by the kilo to take abroad, thanks to its unmatched taste and quality. However, Om Sweets is much more than just Dhoda Barfi—it also offers a delightful vegetarian restaurant experience at its Tilak Nagar outlet.

A Vegetarian Feast at Om Sweets

Located on the first floor, the restaurant serves a variety of dishes from North Indian, South Indian, desi Chinese, and street food cuisines. We have visited this place multiple times, and it has never disappointed. On our most recent visit, we ordered Spring Rolls, Dahi Bhalla, Garlic Rava Dosa, and Chowmein.

  • The Spring Rolls were piping hot and perfectly crispy—an absolute delight.
  • Dahi Bhalla offered a subtle yet refreshing taste.
  • The Chowmein was a bit too spicy for our taste but flavorful nonetheless.
  • The Garlic Rava Dosa was a standout—crispy, crunchy, and delicious.

Dining Convenience and Service

One of the best features of Om Sweets is their no self-service policy. Unlike some popular vegetarian chains like Haldiram’s or Bikaner, Om Sweets ensures you’re served at your table, sparing you from long queues and trips to various counters. This personalized service makes dining here much more enjoyable.

We have started preferring vegetarian restaurants like Om Sweets, Gulabwala, Imly, Bell peppers and Indus flavourover Haldiram and Bikaner for this reason.

Parking Woes Solved and Lift Facility for Elderly

Parking can be a hassle in Tilak Nagar, but Om Sweets has dedicated parking attendants who make the process seamless. This is a huge relief in such a congested area. Additionally, the restaurant provides a small service lift to the first floor, which is particularly helpful for elderly diners. We noticed a group of elderly men celebrating a birthday, and the lift made it easy for them to reach the dining area.

A Miss on the Gol Gappe

On our way out, we decided to try the Gol Gappe, but sadly, the experience wasn’t great. The flavor didn’t hit the mark, and the staff at the counter seemed indifferent. In hindsight, this street food is best enjoyed on actual streets rather than in a restaurant setting.

A Top Choice for Vegetarian Dining in West Delhi

Overall, Om Sweets is a solid choice for a delicious, pocket-friendly vegetarian meal in West Delhi. The restaurant’s attention to detail, excellent service, and diverse menu make it one of the best options in the area. Whether you’re visiting for their famous Dhoda Barfi or stopping by for a quick meal, Om Sweets delivers a satisfying experience.
