We recently attended a very chilled out event with the single goal – chill – over good English cinema. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited has launched a premium HD English movie channel – &Privé HD. They invited a select audience and media to orient them about the potential of this channel. The terrace of the beautiful fort Qla was converted to a make-shift movie theatre and the Qutub at the background made the perfect setting.

We had heard a lot of good things about the movie “The Post” by the legendary Steven Spielberg. It also featured our favourites – Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks. “The Post” was the movie that was screened at the event. The script was a revelation on American politics – the Vietnam War still evoking a lot of interest. But we will remember this film for the stellar performance by Meryl Streep. She lived the role of the owner of a cash strapped newspaper who is confronted with a dilemma. A situation where her choice would save the paper or save her soul. It was an edge of the seat climax and this cinema is a must watch. The wine / beer / other beverages that were served, alongwith the canape, enhanced our movie experience.

All in all, the event clearly conveyed what &Privé HD – luxurious viewing of fascinating English cinema. Given that this is a new channel, the evening was nothing less than an eyeopener. We are already fans of the Fun-Do channel &Privé HD.
