Sunday Brunch At Hyatt Regency Gurgaon

Jul 8, 2022 | Food

What do we love most on Sundays? The right answer is Sunday brunch either at home or at a hotel. Last Sunday, we had Brunch at Hyatt Regency in Gurgaon. The corona world is gradually moving back to normalcy. We have started traveling, reviewing properties, doing events in Delhi NCR as well as dining out off and on. Hence we decided to celebrate getting back to life with a solid round of overindulging food at this reputed luxury property. After all, a good Sunday brunch in Delhi NCR is a delectable pleasure.

Hyatt Regency Gurgaon

Hyatt Regency is a full-service hotel with luxurious rooms, swimming pools, restaurants, and conference halls for big events. We remember coming here a few years back for the launch of a food and beverage magazine. Eminent celebrities from the food circuit also attended that event.

Sunday Brunch at Hyatt Regency – Menu

It has been a while since Hyatt Regency, Gurgaon was holding Sunday branches. They were taking a break given COVID restrictions. But they are now back with an elaborate spread laid out every Sunday morning at their multi-cuisine restaurant Kitchen District. When we came to know they had resumed Sunday brunch at Kitchen District, we were very excited. It was somewhat an obvious choice for a weekend brunch in Delhi NCR.

Kitchen District is spacious with comfortable seats and dim lights. They had separate counters for different varieties of food laid out as part of the elaborate brunch. We sat at a window-side table overlooking the beautiful swimming pool of the hotel.
Some grilled non-vegetarian items were served hot on the table. Every item was grilled to perfection and we especially liked the fish. We sipped some drool-worthy mocktails and fruit punches on the side.

Freshly prepared piping hot dim sums, also served on the table, were exactly what Asian food dreams were made of.

The salad bar consisted of vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian salads. The colourful preparations served in small dishes and sometimes in Martini glasses were a shutterbug’s delight. Most of the non-vegetarian salads were made of chicken or seafood for the calorie-conscious diner. They kept a selection of bread, dips, and hummus to make the salads even more interesting.

There were several live stalls in the kitchen like Delhi ki chaat; Italian food and the fusion Singapore noodle chaat. We tried white and red portions of pasta from the Italian live kitchen. We also tried Singapore noodle chaat. It was light, snacky and so much fun.

brunch at Hyatt Regency includes north Indian favorites

Unless and until Delhiites have their Dal Makhni, Naan, and Butter Chicken, they don’t find closure to their meal. Bearing in mind the North Indian palette, the Indian section had the aforesaid items along with mixed vegetable dishes. One of the best items from the Indian main course section was the Daal Makhani. It went perfectly well with the breads-basket that was served hot on the table. Amongst this, garlic naan was 10 on 10.

The dessert counter was laid out with Indian desserts as well as many options for bakery lovers. There were so many options that we were spoilt for choice. For Indian sweet lovers, they had milk cake that was handmade by a desi halwai (a local confectioner) whom the hotel had especially hired to make Indian sweets.

Fruit tart, chocolate tart, red velvet cake, and cheesecake are just some of the items that we remember trying (yes, as a group). That was a sweet ending to a delightful culinary experience.

summer drinks - brunch at Hyatt Regency

To summarise

The Sunday brunch was laidback, luxurious, and absolutely regal yet not overwhelming. We could only try a fraction of the items on the buffet. The warm hospitality of the staff is also worth special mention. Everybody ensured that we had the best experience at our table.

We were a diverse group – one was vegetarian and another was into healthy eating. All of us could eat to our liking. We are looking forward to trying food at their other restaurants as well.

Meanwhile, the Sunday brunch was such a delectable experience that we are already looking for an excuse to do it all over again! Oh but we already have one – we missed out on the sushi you see, and need to go back to Hyatt Regency Gurgaon Sunday Brunch spread for that.
