Streaming on ZEE5, it drew our attention because it was a comedy, it had football, and last but not least, it was short!

The recently released film “Parmanu – The Story of Pokhran” has been a box-office hit grossing more than 60 crores. The movie is based on India’s second confidential nuclear test series in Pokhran, Rajasthan in 1998. This year’s Oscar sweeper is The Shape of Water. The film got rave reviews from critics as well as general public all over the world. We had high hopes and the promos looked promising. Anyway we get to see very few Oscar nominated films on big screens in Delhi. So we jumped at the first opportunity we had to watch The Shape of Water.
We stay clear of romantic movies but landed up watching director Luv Ranjan’s Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety at PVR Director’s Cut, Vasant Kunj. The audi was super luxury. But the film was a complete surprise. Read on – minimal spoiler alert.
There is very little that is not known to us about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest cinema Pandmaavat. Based on the epic poem Padmavat written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi, it has led to a whole lot of protests. We are not going into any socio-political issues here. But then we are now schismed into pro and anti Padmavati (original name of the film) groups. Needless to say we just had to watch Padmavaat
The film Lipstick Under My Burkha received a lot of publicity before its release for issues with censor board. This has led to full house runs at multiplexes. While somebody we hope is laughing his way to the bank, we explore if it’s worth the hoopla.
8th Jagran Film Festival is being held at Sirifort Auditorium in Delhi. Organised by Jagran Prakashan (House of Dainik Jagran Newspaper), this festival is showcasing several national and international films in various languages across multiple cities of India.
