Aadyam Theatre is in its 5th year of producations and has already staged a couple of plays in Delhi. Their latest presentation Mosambi Narangi is anything but about seasonal fruits. It does however have a sense of season in it. We watched this fun play last weekend at Kamani Auditorium and were in splits.

It is time for a new season of Aadyam plays in Delhi. Aadyam Season 5 is already into its second presentation. The latest production was something that would excite all book lovers. Khaled Hussaini’s debut and the most loved novel “The Kite Runner” was adapted for a stage production. The play was directed by Aakarsh Khurana and ran a full house that included us.

Dastangoi is the lost art of storytelling in Urdu. The Dastangoi Summer Festival 2019, organised by Dastangoi Collective, at Akshara Theatre was held between 11 to 13 July, 2019 and ran full houses.

Given the heavy topic of the play, we were skeptical about the treatment. All we knew was that we had to watch it.

To keep up with changing tastes of consumers, they have added a host of new items on their menu. The new menu is available at all Cinépolis theatres across the country.

14th Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META), 2019 concluded with a grand awards night. Kamani Auditorium was full to the brim with META team, META jury, actors and theatre lovers to watch this annual extravaganza. The event had a star studded setting what with luminaries from the field of theatre coming together for the love of the art. Ila Arun, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sushma Seth, Swaroopa Ghosh and many other thespians were on the Red Carpet for the META finale.
Bhagi Hui Ladkiyan – A Play, A Statement
Mahindra Excellence Theatre Festival 2019 (META) is on in full swing and we are happy to have collaborated in this fantastic event. META is a competition and we had watched one of contenders, “Bhagi Hui Ladkiyan” at American Centre a while back. This play is directed by Dhwani Vij and is produced by Aagaz Theatre Trust, New Delhi. This piece definitely calls for a review.

As we all know by now, Aadyam is the theatre initiative of the Aditya Birla group. They are in their fourth season and the second play was Hello Farmaish. We watched this production last Sunday at a packed Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi.
Macbeth – Play by Tamasha Entertainment
Macbeth is perhaps among the most enacted plays by Shakespeare. It has been translated in myriad languages and performed across the globe, such is the legacy. Given the popularity, it is a tall order to attempt such a popular piece. To this end, Tamasha Entertainment and Rajul Khare’s production Macbeth is clearly a bold enterprise. We are happy to have watched it last weekend.
Samantak Teerth – A play by Aadyantara
Radhashtami – the divine Consort Radha’s birthday was celebrated last weekend mainly in Barsana and Vrindavan. We landed up celebrating this event dramatically. We watched Samantak Teerth, a play based on the life of Shri Krishna. Staged by Adadyantara and scripted and directed by Dr. Madhuri Subodh, the venue was LTG Auditorium.
Bazzar – A unique show by world’s biggest live entertainment company
Cirque du Soleil is the largest theatrical producer in the world. They are coming to India for the first time to stage the show Bazzar under their huge iconic top tent in Delhi. We were invited to an up close and personal interaction with the teams of Cirque du Soleil and their India collaborators BookMyShow. Here is a scoop about this unique event.
Detective Nau Do Gyarah – A laugh riot by Aadyam
Aadyam is back with their 2018 season and the first presentation in Delhi was a Hindi comedy play Nau Do Gyarah. The play was a production by The Company Theatre and directed by Atul Kumar. Given that the plot was a comedy murder mystery, we really didn’t know what to expect.
