Nil Battey Sannata–What went wrong with a right film?

The trailer of Nil Battey Sannata was encouraging and we were looking forward to watching this film. Given that this was a story without romance / action / typical song-dance sequences, we were not confident that it would run very long at cinemas. So, we watched it soon after its release in a 30% occupied auditorium in Gurgaon. Actually, that’s not so bad. Even if some audience turn up for experimental films, the going is good.

J W Marriot at Aerocity near the airport is holding a Bangkok Food Festival. We visited this event last weekend to taste some Thai food.

The Jungle Book – Nostalgia on celluloid

The film world has been waiting with much anticipation for the release of the movie “The Jungle Book”. Directed by Jon Favreau, this version deviates from the earlier animated film by Walt Disney in that this uses three dimensional CG technology. It has been released in English and Hindi in India and has had a whopping opening. It is therefore no surprise that there were way more adults than children when we watched this movie recently.
