BRICS Summit 2026: 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit in New Delhi
New Delhi is set to host the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit on 12 and 13 September 2026, with Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan serving as the main venue. India is hosting the summit as it holds the BRICS Chairship for 2026.
The summit will bring together leaders of BRICS member and partner countries, along with outreach invitees, for discussions on strengthening cooperation and addressing shared global and regional priorities. India’s BRICS Chairship is guided by the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”, reflecting a focus on people-centric development and the principle of “Humanity First.”
The 2026 Chairship has included more than 350 meetings and high-level engagements across over 25 cities, covering the three broad pillars of BRICS cooperation: political and security cooperation, economic and financial cooperation, and cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The New Delhi summit will bring this year-long programme to its culmination. The summit is particularly significant as 2026 marks 20 years since the establishment of BRICS, while India takes on its fourth BRICS Chairship.
For Delhi residents, the summit will also mean heightened security and traffic restrictions around key routes and movement corridors during the summit period. Visitors and commuters are advised to check traffic advisories and use public transport where possible.
