Marking the first anniversary of Sameksha Gallery, Close | Far: Lean In, Step Back is a thoughtfully curated group exhibition that explores how scale shapes our perception of art. Curated by Yamini Telkar, the exhibition features works by Kavita Nayyar, Vanita Gupta, Savya Jain, and Aman Kumar Bavaria.

Developed through an extended dialogue between the curator and the artists, the exhibition examines how meaning changes depending on whether we focus on the smallest details or step back to take in the larger picture. Through diverse contemporary practices, the artists invite viewers to reflect on intimacy, perspective, and the shifting relationship between artwork and observer.

The exhibition also celebrates a year of Sameksha Gallery’s commitment to contemporary art through exhibitions, artist mentorship, talks, workshops, performances, and public engagement. As part of the anniversary celebrations, visitors can also attend special programmes including a book discussion with Neeraj Batra, a screening of The Coral Woman followed by a conversation with filmmaker Priya Thuvassery, and an art appreciation talk hosted by the gallery.
