i am your neighbour, i am your lover, i am: Solo Exhibition
London-based artist Rewati Shahani presents i am your neighbour, i am your lover, i am, a solo exhibition currently on view at Blueprint12, New Delhi. Presented in collaboration with Cultivate Art and curated by Deeksha Nath, the exhibition brings together multidisciplinary works that reflect on visibility, dissent and resistance in a time of growing political polarisation.
Responding to the resurgence of right-wing politics in the UK and beyond, Shahani’s works explore the increasingly precarious position of dissenting voices. Working across drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture and performative gestures, the artist brings the body into conversation with politics, protest and collective action.
The exhibition features sculptural heads contorted in anguish and gathered together, evoking the urgency, strength and frustrations of collective protest. Shahani’s body prints, meanwhile, transform her physical presence into a record of persistence and agency, exploring the ideas of visibility and vulnerability at a time when being seen can itself become an act of resistance.
Together, the works present a feminist perspective rooted in collective consciousness, solidarity and the continuing need for resistance.
