Festival of New Choreographies – KalaYatra 2026

Experience the power of contemporary classical dance at the Festival of New Choreographies, a prestigious showcase of all-new choreographic works by some of India’s finest gurus and choreographers. Part of KalaYatra 2026, this festival celebrates innovation within tradition, bringing fresh perspectives to India’s rich classical dance heritage.
Jointly hosted by the Department of Art, Culture & Language, Government of NCT of Delhi and the Centre for Indian Classical Dances (Shri Kamakhya Kalapeeth), the festival presents original productions rooted in classical forms, mythology, literature, and contemporary thought.
The festival features acclaimed choreographic works by Dr Sonal Mansingh, Guru Sadanam Balakrishnan, Dr Deepti Omchery Bhalla, Guru Shivanand Hegde, Bhabanand Borbayan, Vaibhav Arekar, Ratikant Mohapatra, and leading artistes of Sriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, among others. Each evening brings a distinct artistic vision, making the festival a must-attend for dance lovers, students, and cultural enthusiasts.
