Love Is… A Musical Clown Show Comes to India International Centre

A delightful blend of theatre, music, comedy, and storytelling awaits audiences at the India International Centre with Love Is…, a new musical clown show directed by acclaimed Dublin-based theatre-maker Tamar Keane.

At the heart of the performance is Mary, a cleaner who also happens to be a clown. As she heads to work, a mysterious melody begins to play in her mind—“Love is a stranger to me…” What follows is a whimsical, humorous, and deeply human exploration of love, loneliness, imagination, and unexpected moments of connection. Through music, movement, and clowning, the production transforms an ordinary day into an extraordinary theatrical journey.

The performance features Caitríona Ní Threasaigh, Irish actor and visual artist, whose expressive physical theatre style brings the character of Mary to life. She is joined by Aching Shaiza, pianist and mezzo-soprano, whose live musical accompaniment adds depth and emotion to the narrative. Shaiza has taught at institutions including The American Embassy School, The British School, and The Delhi School of Music, and currently serves as Voice Faculty at the Caux Artist Program in Switzerland and Head of the Voice Department at THEME Music Institute, Delhi NCR.

Combining clowning, live music, visual storytelling, and gentle humour, Love Is… promises an engaging evening for audiences of all ages, offering a fresh and imaginative perspective on one of humanity’s most enduring themes.
