Madhavi Festival 2026: Swapnasundari performs Vilasini Natyam & Agama Bharatham
The seventh edition of the Madhavi Festival, organised by the Madhavi Foundation for Creative Excellence, brings an evening of traditional Indian dance to Delhi, featuring acclaimed dancer and choreographer Swapnasundari and students of Ganesa Natyalaya.
The evening opens with Parijatham, a solo Vilasini Natyam performance by Swapnasundari. The new work explores the many moods of Satyabhama — her pride, longing, jealousy and deep love for Krishna – through dance, music, spoken dialogue and expressive abhinaya.
This will be followed by Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavanthu, a group presentation by Ganesa Natyalaya, choreographed by Swapnasundari. Created after a 10-day workshop on Agama Bharatham, the performance draws from the ancient Agama Baliharanam ritual and explores the idea of dance as prayer, with a universal message of peace, harmony and well-being.
