Gujarat Remains a Key Domestic Tourism Market

Speaking about the success of the initiative, K. Syama Raju, President of Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS), said the response from Gujarat’s travel industry had been highly encouraging. He noted that Gujarat continues to be one of Karnataka’s most important domestic tourism source markets. Building on the success of the recently concluded Discover Chikkamagaluru campaign, these roadshows further strengthened Karnataka’s efforts to position itself as a preferred destination for both domestic and international travellers.

More Roadshows Planned Across India

According to Jagadeesh H., Secretary of Karnataka Tourism Society (KTS), the Gujarat series highlighted the strength of collaboration between government agencies and private tourism stakeholders. He also announced an extensive calendar of upcoming domestic tourism roadshows, which will cover several key markets across the country, including Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, Rajasthan, Punjab and NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

Cities such as Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Pune, Nagpur, Indore, Bhopal, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore and Visakhapatnam are part of the planned outreach programme. These initiatives are expected to further strengthen Karnataka’s domestic tourism network and increase awareness among travel professionals across the country.

Karnataka Tourism Continues to Expand Its Domestic Outreach

The successful completion of the Gujarat Series B2B Roadshows reflects Karnataka Tourism Society’s continued focus on strengthening partnerships with the travel trade while promoting the state’s diverse tourism experiences. With more roadshows planned across India, Karnataka aims to further boost domestic tourism and encourage travellers to explore its rich heritage, wildlife, coffee plantations, beaches, luxury stays, and cultural attractions.

It is great to hear that they plan to work to increase domestic and international tourism. I am sure that it will succeed as there is so much to see and do there. I love luxury breaks and being near beaches so might be booking a holiday sometime myself x

I think the decision by Karnataka Tourism Society to work hard at promoting domestic tourism is a smart move. We often see endless ads for foreign travel and European getaways when local areas have attractions and getaways that could be equally rewarding. Travel ought to begin at home by exploring local and national treasures and then exploring foreign ones.

Domestic tourism is a smart business move. Many have so many excursions and beautiful places right in their backyards but have no idea. The road show will be a huge success

Domestic tourism is the intelligent move. Many have no idea what their city has to offer or the great diversions available in their own back yard.
