Blind School Diwali Mela

Diwali Mela at the Blind Relief Association is a harbinger of Diwali in Delhi. Blind School Diwali Bazaar is undoubtedly the most popular Diwali do in Delhi. The pre-winter pleasant weather that Delhi experiences adds cheer to the event.
Goods on offer generally comprise Corporate Diwali Gifts, arty diya stalls, fancy hanging lamps, clothes, ornaments, home décor,  Feng Shui items, dry flowers, handmade chocolates etc.

When: 15 Oct – 21 Oct 2022
Timing: 10 am to 8 pm
Parking:  Sunehri Bagh Bus Terminal / Bhairon Mandir Parking
Entry Tickets: Free
What to buy: Hand made diyas, Candles, carry bags and incense sticks at Blind school counter, Homemade chocolate hampers
What to eat: Mawa Kachori and tea
What to avoid: Shopping close to the last date. It gets crowded and the good stuff is already sold.
Nearest Metro Station: Jor Bagh or Lajpat Nagar

Festival of Lights by Dastkar

Diwali Melas

Dastkar’s annual Diwali fair is called Festival of Lights. To be held at Kisan Haat at Andheria Modh, this is a rich collection of Indian handicrafts by way of weaves and artifacts. The goods displayed at this exhibition are a notch refined than the more affordable Indian crafts available at Delhi Haat.

When: 7 Oct to 19 Oct 2022
Timing: 11 am to 7 pm
Parking: Dedicated parking outside Kisan Haat
Entry Tickets: Rs.30/-
What to buy: Plants, clothes by yardage, and home decor
What to do: Shopping and photography
What to eat: Mix veg pakoras and tea at Gali-e-Khaas
What to avoid: Bargaining (Most of the stuff is made by artisans)
Nearest Metro Station: Chattarpur

Dilli Haat INA Diwali Bazaar

Indulge in some festival shopping and binging at the Delhi Haat Diwali bazaar. Delhi Haat is loved by puritans for the quality of stuff that is on offer and by others who just want to soak in some festivities. Along with exquisite crafty stuff, they have simple crockery, bags, and doormats for day-to-day use. Delhi Haat INA market is one of the finest-looking venues in Delhi and with Diwali decoration, it looks even better.

When: 5 Oct to 23 Oct 2022
Timing: 10 am to 8 pm
Parking: Dedicated parking at the front and the back gate of Delhi Haat
Entry Tickets: 30/- for adults and 20/- for kids
What to buy: Brass diyas and Diwali decoration
What to do: Shopping and photography
What to eat: Pooran poli at Maharashtra stall and Rajasthan thali
What to avoid: Driving. One is better off taking the metro

Sunder Nagar Diwali Mela

Unlike Blind School Diwali Mela which focuses more on craft, The Sunder Nagar Diwali Mela is more of a funfair with giant wheels, chuski wallas, and even a dance stage. The crowd here enjoys the gamut of games along with eating and shopping.

When: Dates Not Confirmed
Timing: 4 pm onwards
Parking: Sunder Nagar Market and service lanes
Entry Tickets: Rs 150/-
What to buy: Handmade stationery items
What to do: Various games and Giant Wheel
What to eat: Kebabs, Rolls, and Chuski
What to avoid: Coming during the daytime. It’s only in the evening.
Nearest Metro Station: Jor Bagh or Lajpat Nagar

    All of these are really vibrant looking Diwali fairs that bring alive the spirit of the festival. I must say that with these spectacular fairs, one can actually forget the Christmas Markets of Europe! Each of these fairs seems to have a unique character, especially Dastkar’s annual Diwali fair, looks really fascinating.
