Tea places in Delhi-T’Pot Café

Tea places in Delhi-T’Pot Café

Tea is catching up as the go-to drink for many in Delhi what with its health benefits and reasonable prices,. Consequently tea cafes in Delhi are seeing a steadily increasing flow of patrons. T’Pot Café in Malviya Nagar is a tea joint that is about two years old. They have an impressive range of tea starting from our very own masala chai to the exotic white tea – oolong tea et al. They also serve a variety of tea snacks, (vegetarian well as non-vegetarian) meal items and coffee. Apart from the brew, one may buy tea leaves from their outlet or online store.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Bas karo bhaijaan

Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Bas karo bhaijaan

Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the latest Salman Khan potboiler is just another mediocre film. The approach is over the top and the clichéd plot of India – Pakistan rivalry has nothing fresh to offer. Nawazuddin Siddique however, as a co-star, is wow in this otherwise boring film.

The Inner Eye is a documentary by Satyajit Ray on the artist Benode Behari Mukherjee. Benode Bihari was partially blind since birth. He lost his vision completely in mid life. Hinglish – Indian and Continental Cuisine in West Delhi

Hinglish – Indian and Continental Cuisine in West Delhi

Hinglish in Pacific Mall, near Subhash Nagar Metro Station is a restaurant that serves a combo of Indian and continental cuisine. We were great fans of this place but our last visit has disappointed us big time. Drinks – food – service – ambiance – attitude – every element was a let down. Extremely saddening.

Katha Loknath – Retold by Loknath

Katha Loknath / Retold by Loknath is a film by Rajula Shah about the flow of art from one form to another (sculptor – storytelling – film). The film is a great combination of abstract – fantasy and real life that takes us back to our childhood days.

Mediumwelldone – Just medium, not well done

Mediumwelldone – Just medium, not well done

Mediumwelldone is a resto bar in Gurgaon. Claiming to serve authentic American steak, they disappointed us with their overdose of spices in every dish (soup-starter-main course) that we ordered. The décor is nice and the place is quiet. A mediocre experience all in all.

Delhi Drummers – Jamming @ Zorba the Buddha

Delhi Drummers – Jamming @ Zorba the Buddha

Delhi Drummers recently had a jamming session at the picturesque Zorba the Buddha, Mehrauli Gurgaon Road. This was an open event where anybody was free to get his musical instrument of choice and play along. The viewers swayed to the music and some of them formed circles around the drummers and danced with gusto. Overall, a very pleasant fuss free and “cool” do on a very warm summer evening.

Indian Express film club held a screening of Ankhon Dekhi, a 2014 Hindi film by Rajat Kapoor. It revolves around the life of a middle aged family man and his principle of “Seeing is believing”. It is a new age film sans glamour and item songs and most definitely deserves a watch.

Ramzaan Special – Dinner at Karim’s

Ramzaan Special – Dinner at Karim’s

The foodies of Delhi (or outside) routinely flock Old Delhi (Jama Masjid area) during Ramzan to taste Mughlai food. Karim’s perhaps is the most popular joint in this league. However, there are a plethora of other eateries. In addition to Mughlai food, a variety of local breads with cream, jelly and coconut stuffing; sewaiyan; desserts such as Shahi Tukra and Anarasa and interestingly brewed milk tea with cream topping are must trys.

Inside out – Emotions in motion

An animated film about the core feelings /emotions of an eleven year old girl Riley. Her feelings work among each other to guide Riley’s thought and actions. If you are parent, take your child along. If not, watch this film alone just to know yourself a little better.

Jurassic World: Lot of technology, very little magic

Jurassic World: Lot of technology, very little magic

The fourth film in the Jurassic Park series fails to create the magic of the earlier Jurassic Park films. However the computer graphics are impressive and the dinosaur sightings still draw awws and oos from kids. Steven Spielberg is a producer here and we miss his directorial magic in the film.

Nando’s is a causal dining international restaurant chain known for their chicken preparations in peri peri sauce. They have a few restaurants in NCR and we tried the Cyberhub outlet.
