18th EcoReels Film Festival Brings Environmental Cinema to Delhi
Cinema can do more than entertain—it can spark conversations, challenge perspectives, and inspire action. The 18th EcoReels Film Festival returns to Delhi this June with a compelling lineup of films exploring some of the most pressing issues of our time, including environment, climate change, biodiversity, sustainability, conservation, livelihoods, and community resilience. The festival is organised by Kriti Film Club, which has been curating documentary and independent film screenings on development, human rights, and social issues for over two decades.
This year’s festival focuses on the theme Environment, Climate Change & Sustainable Development, bringing together documentaries, fiction films, animation, and experimental works from India and around the world. Through screenings and discussions, the festival aims to create greater awareness and dialogue around ecological challenges and sustainable futures.
The EcoReels platform has grown into an important space for filmmakers, researchers, activists, students, and audiences interested in environmental issues. Previous editions have featured films on climate justice, wildlife conservation, biodiversity, farming, pollution, natural resources, and community-led environmental action, often accompanied by conversations with filmmakers and subject experts.
Hosted at Alliance Française de Delhi, the two-day festival offers an opportunity to engage with meaningful cinema while reflecting on the environmental challenges shaping our world today.
