Badsoorat – A Satirical Comedy on Obsession with Appearances at NSD
The National School of Drama’s second-year students are set to take the stage with Badsoorat!, a witty and thought-provoking theatrical production that takes a humorous look at a society increasingly obsessed with physical appearance, perfection, and image.
Written by acclaimed German playwright Marius von Mayenburg and directed by Sapan Saran, the play combines sharp satire, dark humour, and social commentary to explore questions of beauty, identity, self-worth, and the pressures of conformity. Through a lively ensemble performance, Badsoorat! examines how perceptions of attractiveness can influence relationships, opportunities, and the way individuals are viewed by the world around them.
